Born in 2000, Mathis CATHIGNOL studied at the Aix (regional) conservatoire with Michel Leduc, graduating in 2014. In 2015 he won first prize in the under-19 category of the Montrond-les-bains international piano competition, and a year later won first prizes in the Flame competition (under-17 category) and Île-de-France competition (advanced level).
In 2017, at the age of 16, he succeeded the entrance auditions to both the Paris and Lyon national conservatoires.
